This post will save your TIME on attending faceless interviews

Hi n hello ALL

Getting a mapped job is quite difficult than getting ANY JOB irrespective of the industry!! How many of you people will agree with me, that most of the fresher’s are quitting their first job in less than 6 months!!

By taking this scenario did a small study, and finally came out with a prĂ©cised blog post. 


Mapped job means?

Selecting a job profile which suits for you as per the industry and your skill sets by understanding job description (or) roles & responsibilities. 

You might ask a question i.e. – Do you really think that opportunities will come as per our choice of the Industries?


 
May be yes/no, but tell me is it much better of doing a JOB as per our interest and in the industry we are Interested in to!!  Instead of doing a job which we don’t have interest and in the Industry we don’t like, and finally end up in quitting the job within six months. 

Makes lot of difference, isn’t it!! 

(This post is mainly concerned for the readers who are doing MBA)

First select the Industry you are Interested or which you feel it suits as per your skills and ability. 

Marketing -> Real estate sector, Service Industry (Education, Financial, Service providers etc.. ), Product oriented, and many other industries

Finance-> Banking Industry such as accounting , Investment, regulatory and other industries like - Insurance, mortgage companies, legal sectors, and non banking financial institutions like foreign exchange services, Stock market and credit unions. 

HR-> I am not aware much on Human resource department, maybe you should concentrate on the HR job roles of recruitment, staffing, talent hunting, payroll process and many more. 

It is better to keep two options (by giving priority) for selecting Industries rather relying only on ONE industry. (You will get more opportunities)

Once you chosen the industries then get to know, what are the different entry level positions (MBA) for a particular industry? Then, try to understand the roles and responsibilities you need to perform in different positions.  After that, shortlist to two - three profiles which you feel can give your best and survive for 1 year or more.  Until and unless you try and make an effort to prove yourself in any job - you will not able to survive. but mapping like this, will help you to find a suitable job for longevity and later gives a boost in your career too.

Just don’t waste time by attending interviews casually, know the things you need to know and then give a serious try to crack it, which will helpful for you to stick in the company atleast 1 year or more. Generally HR executives will have a target that these many number of candidates need to be sent for an interview. So don’t caught up in such traps and waste your time by attending faceless interviews. 

Basic things you need to know before you go for face to face interview!! (Or) the questions you need to ask when a call came from HR executive! 

What is the job profile and description?
(If it is not from your chosen industry or the desired profile you are looking for, then end up with one sentence that I am not interested)

Product oriented or service oriented? (Marketing)

Job location & timings?

Night shift or day shift? 

What are the mandatory things? (Like - two wheeler, agreement or bond?)

What is the salary they are offering?

And and other questions depending up on the profile and job description. 

At last ask for to send company profile to your email ID!! 

(By the last question it gives you time to think on the job profile whether it matches you are not and then make a promise or commit for attending that interview)
                                    

These are the basic things need to know before going for an interview even though you are not giving a serious trail. Don’t go for an Interview simply because your friend is going!! Evaluate the roles and responsibilities you need to perform in job with your skill set, if you miss this point there will be no use even though you realized later that it is not your cup of tea. Finally you end up with wasting time in unmapped job profile.

Assembling a BUSINESS TEAM



Hi Readers, 

Hope everyone is fine and doing great..!!

As I started a series on business challenges facing by entrepreneurs. So this will be my 3rd post in this series. 

You can find first two parts of this series down below the post. And today’s post is all related on assembling a business team as an entrepreneur.

Did you see any time or regularly while eagles flock?  Never…. Isn’t it!! You have to find them ONE at a time. 

  
Similarly, Finding out true leaders or committed(passionate) people will be found rarely or individually but not in a flock.

Building a team in employees for doing project or building a team in individual departments (marketing, Finance, HR) is differ when compared to building a business team. Business team is a management team or board of the members where everyone sits around a table regularly and brainstorms on the ways of getting business.

Yes, the process of building a team starts even before the raising capital for the venture.  Having a core team for our business is worthwhile than as an Individual entrepreneur.  Let me explain clearly!

First let us all agree with one true fact. 

Everyone doesn’t have ALL the skills to become an entrepreneur? Do you all agree!!  Suppose let us think as we are an entrepreneurs going to launch our business idea in the market. Then the first step we have to do is short listing our self as per our skills and ability and then decide with whom we want to connect for compensating the skills we are lacking in,  and also to bring the reality of our business idea.  After we identify our weaknesses we should gain those skills by choosing relevant team members which complements our weaknesses. and this also makes you stronger by having a business team than an Individual entrepreneur.

Don't you think you can impress effectively to an angel investor or VC's by having a BUSINESS TEAM than individual approach (As it is a one man show) !! 

Next hurdle is:

Where to find the core members having the skills we are lacking in? Start sharing your business idea to the trusted people (Friends, relatives and colleagues) or some other groups (like Alumni,business groups etc). Involve more in networking groups or the groups of industry you are going to enter. Then obviously you will get an opportunity to meet likeminded people having similar thoughts. 

Once you assemble your business team with the members having the skills (which are your weaknesses).  Then you should transform your vision and passion in them which is going to play a crucial role in making a strong core management team. This is the next big hurdle of transforming your vision in to your core team members. The one who succeed in this can easily seen quick results. 


What is the future you are seeing now, the same should see your core team as well. Whatever the opportunities you are able to identify, the same has to identify by them.  Your views and vision should be common among all the core members of your business team. 

It is just a simple basic things need to follow when in the way of assembling business team irrespective of any industry for an ENTREPRENEUR.

Power of Appreciation



What is stopping you to appreciate others?

:-) 

Let me ask you this - In a ‘DAY’ how many people you appreciate daily? None!!  


At the end of this post I am sure you will make a habit of appreciating others which really helps you to grow your professional network and I guess you will see a change in your life. 

Sometimes we need to make others happy too.. (Not fake appreciation...)
Appreciating people is like giving a personal touch in one’s personal life or to make a professional contact. Yes, don’t you want to be appreciated from others?  Of course I do and same as others as well. 

Maya Angelou –says “I have learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Yes, when you show a little appreciation towards others definitely it will make personal impact on them which keeps them in confidence and in motivating factor.

My personal experience: I almost lost in touch with my blog and times are there when I really want to stop writing blog.  After some days - A guy from Varanasi written a mail like this 

“I am reading your blog frequently. Nice. Keep writing”

(I felt like recharged with 1000 watts - LoL )

It is as simple as that – If you are working very hard to impress your boss, but he is not recognizing you and your work - which leads you to disappointment and less productivity. In case if your boss recognizes you and appreciated for the work you have done, this brings work satisfaction and more enthusiasm to work in future.  Is it making difference?  Yes it does.

Always try to give attention for others hard work and to the efforts they made to be recognize.

Did you any time appreciated your mother for making a delicious food?

After a long time I visited home and my mother made a delicious vegetarian curry for lunch, while having I just praised and appreciated by saying – “I never get this taste anywhere in this world except if you made it -  so tasty mom I like it.” 

With that small appreciation, my mother doing the same delicious curry every time I go home!



What you have observed by above two examples?

If you gave heart full appreciation to somebody it will make them to repeat their interest again and again, which indirectly you are encouraging their success and passion in them. Similarly if you apply (Appreciation) to the customers in your business, it may be the appreciation for progress they made in their businesses or in their careers.. Whatever, then they always like to be with your partnership. 

Truly - appreciation will make a difference.

Today I am so thankful to all my readers who made my blog to reach this stage, particularly to Prof. Kuldeep who really thought me how to write an article with proper guidelines and his priceless words. I never forget the way he thought life lessons to the students.  He always has my gratitude. 


And mostly to my Dear M-11 batch, thank you so much for every ones support and contribution for making what I am now.

Before you jump in – Keep an eye on the things you need to look at...


There are many challenges faced by entrepreneurs before they start their own businesses, if you are having an entrepreneurial mind with a burning idea? Then it is worth reading this article.

There are some challenges you need to overcome before you go and implementing your business idea in the market. 

The foremost one is: - Developing and screening an Idea 

Developing and screening an idea is certainly not an easy task to perform, it involves lot of research and understanding about the industry and competitors. 


Starting a business is like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute. In mid air, the entrepreneur begins building a parachute and hopes it opens before hitting the ground.” – Rich Dad




Building a parachute in the mid air is possible only when you do some home work before you jump in, which is as follows. 


In general for any business idea the basic things we need to ask our self is...!! 


How unique is my product/ service? 


Who are my potential customers and where can they be found?


What is the current competition? Is it local, national and International?


Is my business idea convincible to maximum members?


Am I able to answer all the questions going to ask by angel investors & VC’S? (Funding)


Is my business model legally allowed? What are the legal issues!!


Is it possible to cope with changing trends and technological factors?

These are the basic factors you need to look at before you jump in to the market, I left one very important factor among all of the above is Market research. Collecting feedback by doing survey and interviews i.e. market research, gives a lot of scope to understand the present scenario. How effectively you do research on market that much of filtration will happen on your idea which in turn gives a lot of advantage in customizing your business model. 


Second challenging thing is raising capital for your startup,
