This post will save your TIME on attending faceless interviews

Hi n hello ALL

Getting a mapped job is quite difficult than getting ANY JOB irrespective of the industry!! How many of you people will agree with me, that most of the fresher’s are quitting their first job in less than 6 months!!

By taking this scenario did a small study, and finally came out with a prĂ©cised blog post.

Mapped job means?

Selecting a job profile which suits for you as per the industry and your skill sets by understanding job description (or) roles & responsibilities.

You might ask a question i.e. – Do you really think that opportunities will come as per our choice of the Industries?

May be yes/no, but tell me is it much better of doing a JOB as per our interest and in the industry we are Interested in to!!  Instead of doing a job which we don’t have interest and in the Industry we don’t like, and finally end up in quitting the job within six months.

Makes lot of difference, isn’t it!!

(This post is mainly concerned for the readers who are doing MBA)

First select the Industry you are Interested or which you feel it suits as per your skills and ability.

Marketing -> Real estate sector, Service Industry (Education, Financial, Service providers etc.. ), Product oriented, and many other industries

Finance-> Banking Industry such as accounting , Investment, regulatory and other industries like - Insurance, mortgage companies, legal sectors, and non banking financial institutions like foreign exchange services, Stock market and credit unions.

HR-> I am not aware much on Human resource department, maybe you should concentrate on the HR job roles of recruitment, staffing, talent hunting, payroll process and many more.

It is better to keep two options (by giving priority) for selecting Industries rather relying only on ONE industry. (You will get more opportunities)

Once you chosen the industries then get to know, what are the different entry level positions (MBA) for a particular industry? Then, try to understand the roles and responsibilities you need to perform in different positions.  After that, shortlist to two - three profiles which you feel can give your best and survive for 1 year or more.  Until and unless you try and make an effort to prove yourself in any job - you will not able to survive. but mapping like this, will help you to find a suitable job for longevity and later gives a boost in your career too.

Just don’t waste time by attending interviews casually, know the things you need to know and then give a serious try to crack it, which will helpful for you to stick in the company atleast 1 year or more. Generally HR executives will have a target that these many number of candidates need to be sent for an interview. So don’t caught up in such traps and waste your time by attending faceless interviews.

Basic things you need to know before you go for face to face interview!! (Or) the questions you need to ask when a call came from HR executive!

What is the job profile and description?
(If it is not from your chosen industry or the desired profile you are looking for, then end up with one sentence that I am not interested)

Product oriented or service oriented? (Marketing)

Job location & timings?

Night shift or day shift?

What are the mandatory things? (Like - two wheeler, agreement or bond?)

What is the salary they are offering?

And and other questions depending up on the profile and job description.

At last ask for to send company profile to your email ID!!

(By the last question it gives you time to think on the job profile whether it matches you are not and then make a promise or commit for attending that interview)

These are the basic things need to know before going for an interview even though you are not giving a serious trail. Don’t go for an Interview simply because your friend is going!! Evaluate the roles and responsibilities you need to perform in job with your skill set, if you miss this point there will be no use even though you realized later that it is not your cup of tea. Finally you end up with wasting time in unmapped job profile.
