Assembling a BUSINESS TEAM

Hi Readers,

Hope everyone is fine and doing great..!!

As I started a series on business challenges facing by entrepreneurs. So this will be my 3rd post in this series.

You can find first two parts of this series down below the post. And today’s post is all related on assembling a business team as an entrepreneur.

Did you see any time or regularly while eagles flock?  Never…. Isn’t it!! You have to find them ONE at a time.

Similarly, Finding out true leaders or committed(passionate) people will be found rarely or individually but not in a flock.

Building a team in employees for doing project or building a team in individual departments (marketing, Finance, HR) is differ when compared to building a business team. Business team is a management team or board of the members where everyone sits around a table regularly and brainstorms on the ways of getting business.

“Business and investing are team sports. “– Rich Dad

Yes, the process of building a team starts even before the raising capital for the venture.  Having a core team for our business is worthwhile than as an Individual entrepreneur.  Let me explain clearly!

First let us all agree with one true fact.

Everyone doesn’t have ALL the skills to become an entrepreneur? Do you all agree!!  Suppose let us think as we are an entrepreneurs going to launch our business idea in the market. Then the first step we have to do is short listing our self as per our skills and ability and then decide with whom we want to connect for compensating the skills we are lacking in,  and also to bring the reality of our business idea.  After we identify our weaknesses we should gain those skills by choosing relevant team members which complements our weaknesses. and this also makes you stronger by having a business team than an Individual entrepreneur.

Don't you think you can impress effectively to an angel investor or VC's by having a BUSINESS TEAM than individual approach (As it is a one man show) !!

Next hurdle is:

Where to find the core members having the skills we are lacking in? Start sharing your business idea to the trusted people (Friends, relatives and colleagues) or some other groups (like Alumni, business groups etc). Involve more in networking groups or the groups of industry you are going to enter. Then obviously you will get an opportunity to meet likeminded people having similar thoughts.

Once you assemble your business team with the members having the skills (which are your weaknesses).  Then you should transform your vision and passion in them which is going to play a crucial role in making a strong core management team. This is the next big hurdle of transforming your vision in to your core team members. The one who succeed in this can easily seen quick results.

What is the future you are seeing now, the same should see your core team as well. Whatever the opportunities you are able to identify, the same has to identify by them.  Your views and vision should be common among all the core members of your business team.

It is just a simple basic things need to follow when in the way of assembling business team irrespective of any industry for an ENTREPRENEUR.

“Teams should be able to act with the same unity of purpose and focus as a well motivated individual”- Bill Gates
